I have just finished listening to The Forsytes ~ a dramatised version of the novels by John Galsworthy, dramatised for radio by Shaun McKenna and it is excellent.
Over the next two years, BBC Radio 4 is broadcasting a new dramatisation of all nine books in John Galsworthy’s The Forsyte Saga; an epic tale of sex, money and power in the lives of an upper middle-class family in London and it spans 50 years, from 1886 to 1936.
Beautifully narrated by Jessica Raine and delightfully directed with imagination and empathy by the wonderful Marion Nancarrow and enacted by a strong cast of talented actors with clear & well spoken voices.
The production is a joy to listen to and perfect audio work for accent softening; received pronunciation; public speaking, Standard English & globally understood clear international, business English. You cannot fail to clearly understand every word they say – whatever mood the characters are in!
Excellent examples of what I will be, have been teaching you – or have done so… 🙂
Please note the first episode is 90 minutes long and only available for the next fourteen days, but the ensuing episodes are only 14 minutes each – easy to listen to during a busy life.
For the first long one, I suggest a physical job you have been putting off for ages!
It’s ideal to keep you entertained and your brain receptive and so open to absorbing easily – excellent pronunciation to induce excellent elocution!
I promise you will become hooked to this charming production – one really does start to care about the characters and what will happen to them next..
